Greetings All,

This problem has been an issue for me for 3 days now. I built a PC and it will not connect to the monitor so I went searching online for a solution. Everything turns on and all fans spin, but no monitor connection and their is a blue bios light. I ascertained that the initial issue was either the mobo (gigabyte GA-X99M Gaming 5) or the ram (Crucial DDR4 2133MHz). I then obtained new ram (ripjaws V Series DDR4 2400MHz) I was still getting a bios light from the mobo and could not get the monitor to connect in order to update the bios.

I went and bought a new mobo (MSI X99A Raider) re-built the PC and still could not get a connection to the monitor (it searches, but states it cannot find any connection) and I still have a blue bios light on the mobo.

Now to be clear, I have read forum post after forum post that has anything to do with a monitor not connecting. I have re-built the PC several times. I have attempted to breadboard it (not sure I completely got it right).

Specs:
CPU: Intel i7-6800k
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 8GB
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X99M Gaming 5 AND MSI X99A Raider
RAM: Crucial DDR4 2133MHz AND Ripjaws V Series DDR4 2400MHz
HDD: Westgate 1TB
SDD: PNY CS1311

Let me know what you all think that I should do...I just want my build to work!

Thank you!

Solution
Most probably the board needs a BIOS update for supporting the CPU. As options, you can take the board to a local shop, or return it and get an ASUS board that does support Flashback, or use a supported CPU, if available.
Looks like the Gigabyte needs the latest BIOS for that CPU

Intel Core i7-6800K 3.40GHz 15MB Broadwell-E 14nm R0 140W 100 F22

As it says:

Support Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4, E5-1600 v4 series, Core i7 6000 series CPU

And the MSI need BIOS P3

Core i7 Broadwell-E i7-6800K 100 3.4 1.5M 15M R0 140 N/A 7885vP3.zip

Went and got an ASUS X99A. Now I am able to get to bios. Thank you for the advice.

Now I just need to figure out why I can boot to bios and then my PC shuts down. Any advice?

I did that, realized the water cooler was connected with the wrongs screws so I didn't have enough pressure down on the cpu. You can tell this is my first build. Thanks again for the advice!!
