Hello. I have recently come into trouble with a graphics card(GTX 1050TI). This card requires a six pin connector. Now do all power supply's have one. Or even a eight pin connector. Please help me I am severely stuck on this!

Solution

Just because it is 500w or because it has 80+ Bronze (assuming that it is even a valid accrediation, because companies fake these all the time) does not in any way garantee it has a 6 pin connector.

So you will either need to open your case and look, or you will need to get us the actual make and model number of the PSU.
Which would be good just so we can verify that it is an actual 80+ rated unit and not a fake (if it is a fake then it is for sure not safe to use).

Nope. If it's a good power supply 450W it will come with at least a single 6pin PCI-E. 500W+ usually come with 2x 6+2pin. Look under the specifications for the power supply on the website, it should list all the connectors.

No not all PSUs have PCI-E connectors, some have none, some have 1 6/8 pin and some have 4 or more.

When it comes to the PCI-E connector the best rule of thumb to have is if the PSU does not have the connector for your card, it was not designed to support it. Does not matter what wattage number is printed on the sticker because at the end of the day it could be just that.....nothing but ink on a sticker.

A quality PSU is designed to ouput its stated max load and has many safegaurds to prevent damaging the rest of the parts of your PC (poor quality PSUs have even caused house fires).

Never go cheap on the part that can destroy all the other parts.

I have a Bronze 500W Power Supply. Can't find the make sorry the label was torn off a while ago. Would this have a 6-pin connector. It came with a GT 640 which dosent need a connector I don't think. Would my power supply have a connector?
