I have a very old desktop, HP T3000. It currently has 250GB hard drive space, and wondered if it would be possible to add a second Hard Drive?

I am currently browsing through Ebay and have found a 2TB HDD Hard drive and it states on the product information that it has no operating system installed.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2TB-HDD-HARD-DRIVE-FOR-HP-PAVILION-DM4T-3000-SERIES-DM4T-2000-SERIES-/321503628938?hash=item4adb1c0e8a:g:XFkAAOSwSclXLohg

I am not sure what it means exactly but would like to know, if possible to add a second hard drive to my HP T3000, and whether or not I need to install an operating system to the new 2tb hdd hard drive for it to work?

Please help me, I really would like to know and I am currently working on a very low budget.

Regards,

Tristan

Couldn't find much info on your particular PC. So the following will be very general and speculative, but at least answer one of your questions.

As long as your PC is working now you don't need another OS for an additional HDD.

From what I can tell, the HDD you linked to is probably a 2.5" HDD for laptops. And from what I can tell from your PC model it probably uses the older IDE interface. It's highly likely this HDD won't work with your PC but maybe an adapter can get around this issue.

Knowing what your motherboard is will help to confirm things. Use something like Speccy or CPU-Z to identify your motherboard model.
