I have an SSD in GPT (which has the OS on it mobo is UEFI compatible etc) and a HDD in MBR format (from an old PC just has files and games on it) There shouldn't be any issues with having them connected to the same PC, right?

You are good so far as attachment is concerned.
But, if your old games were installed needing the registry, they probably will need to be reinstalled.
