I would like to buy a uhd 4k monitor. Most new monitors are freesync or (adaptive sync). I have read that future intel cpu will support this. However I am not clear on whether the intel 4600 will. I am not clear if I buy a monitor and use it for editing 4k videos and if the monitor has freesync and my mother board is a asus B85M-G r2.0 with a I5 4460 intel 4600 graphics ... will everything work well and will i get sufficient graphics acceleration from the intel 4600 graphics working on displayport. I am not concerned about gaming. Anyone know ?

Thanks for taking time time to read the above dissertation. I had entered something like this a year ago. and "maxalge" had proposed that the hd graphics 4600 only supports displayport or 4600.I therefore acknowledged that she solved this problem. I have HDMI ports on my 1920x1080 HD monitor 1/2 which are connected to the above board. Although I did not notice any differences when connecting hdmi port. I have not tried since updating the drivers from intel. I am no finding myself in a different problem. You know how when you get a question answered you get a two questions as a result. Well I have such a a conundrum. I would like to get a 4k UHD display to edit my videos. I find that many are "freesync" or adaptive" sync which only apply to display port. I have also read that Intel HD Graphics 4600 may not support this.My question now is (superseding previous question) 1.) Will monitor work with this specification with my system ? 2.) If not can I make a cheap mod to make it work. 3) Should I steer free of these type of monitors for my system which employs the Intel Hd Graphics 4600 on I5 Haswell 1150 CPU
