I have an I7-7700k and an msi 1070 gaming x and plan on getting either 3 of the ASUS VN248Q-P 23.8" or 3 of the AOC i2367Fh 23-Inch. the problem i having is the asus has display port so i can't directly connect the monitors to the gpu without adapters, but the bezel is kinda thick imo, the aoc has a really thin bezel but only has vga and hdmi, so i would have to get some display port to hdmi adapters. (or dp to vga) so what would be best? thick bezel but direct connection or thin bezel but need adapters?

Also open to suggestions on monitors (and no, i really can't afford 3 1440p's and no again i do not want a single 1440p 27" nor could i afford the one i want)

Solution
Display port to hdmi requires no adapter. you can get a direct cable which won't affect quality at all.

i use this one:

always get the shortest cable you can. the longer the cable the higher the latency/signal loss. 10 feet and under is no problem at all though. if 6 will do i just recommend getting that.

1440p is better suited for a gtx 1080 (in my opinion). even tripple monitor gaming at 1080p i'd recommend a gtx 1080 for a truly good experience. don't get me wrong, the 1070 is a powerful card and will absolutely run games on 3 1080p monitors. you just may have to lower settings to get a solid 60fps depending on the game...

(not talking about CS:GO or Rocket League here). Again, this is my opinion. I'm all about perfection with my machines. People will most likely disagree with this.

for a good monitor, follow these guidelines:

5ms or less response time
60hz
1080p
IPS (important for tipple monitors. less discoloration of side panels and better colors overall.)
LED back lit
24" max

here is a list with monitors matching those specifications by lowest price first:
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#r=192001080&T=1,5&H=0,75&l=1&p=1&sort=a8&page=1&W=2300,5500

if you plan to mount them to monitor arms, VESA 75x75 and VESA 100x100 are the common standards. make sure the monitor matches the VESA size of the arms you are buying or vice versa.

So i looked through a lot of them and the two I've been looking at are still the ones i like the most, but I'm down to 2.. which one would you choose?

1:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009V8F700/?tag=pcpapi-20

2:https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VN248Q-P-1920x1080-DisplayPort-Monitor/dp/B010VG2456

the specs look basically the same but i can't figure out which one has a thinner bezel..

the aoc one is by far a much thinner bezel, but no vesa mount so they will have to sit on the desk permanently. personally i'd look for the thinner bezel than the asus.

i'm actually using two of this one:
http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/accessories/apd/210-agsg?dgc=ST&cid=308992&lid=5841088&acd=1230980731501410&ven1=ssKHueWZm&ven2=,&ven3=812203756708118381

compared to the AOC:
-very thin bezel (may or may not be thinner, but very close either way)
-no ugly silver boarders
-vesa 100x100 compatible
-glossy (be advised, glossy screens are generally better looking but suffer from glare if you have a very bright room. its like looking through glass. on a black screen you can see your reflection)
-touch panel instead of buttons
-option to turn off front power light (may or may not be available on the aoc, but not a common feature on lower end units)
-higher delay of 6ms (this is a slight con, but nothing you'll notice)
-1 extra inch

here's a great review on the dell monitor

Well i seriously like that dell for sure. might just get that. [strike]and the AOC does actually have a vesa adapter plate :https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U67G8C6 so its not all that bad.[/strike] lol I'm just going to get 3 of those dell's, that bezel is perfect for me. and i like the glossy look way more tbh. thanks for showing me the way man! :)
