So I am needing to test the components of an old machine but have no case to put them in. The goal is to build it on my desk. I have tons of antistatic bubble wrap I was going to lay down but was wondering what would work to create space so the mobo doesnt melt the bubble wrap...

Any othe precautionary suggestions are welcomed. Ty

Solution
Non-conductive material; I usually bread-board in the motherboard box, but a piece of cardboard is just fine. Wear rubber sole shoes to minimize picking up static.

Socks on carpet is the least advised, whereas working on the kitchen table/counter on linoleum is much better.
