I've just built my new system (its not the first I've built) but i ran into a weird issue.

When i shut it down the computer turns off for literally a second (leds and fans turn off) but then turns back on(not even lets the fans stop fully) and boots into windows. Even if i shut it off by pushing the on button for a few seconds it turns back on immediately. And if i use the switch from the PSU the PC tries to turn on again with whatever energy is left in the system (obviously it doesn't get far that way).

My specs are:
MSI H270 GAMING M3
INTEL I5 7600
8GB RAM G SKILL DDR4 2400
ASUS GTX 1050TI 4gb STRIX
EVGA 600W 80+

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Turns out we found a weird bug with this particular mobo/ i5 7600 combination. We used a pentium processor and there was no issue, we installed a new i5 7600 and the problem kept happening. Even after bios update. We ended up changing the msi for an asus and everything is fine now.

Thank you all for the help.

Sounds like you forgot a screw in there somewhere and now you connected something thats not supposed to connect. Also check on the reset and shutdown switch if you maybe switched them over. To be 100% sure just take it all out of your case and start the mainboard and see how it reacts then.

Thanks for your answer.

What's weird is that if I turn it on after hours of it being off and then shut it down again it shuts down without problems, but if i use it for several hours and then shut it down the symptom reappears.

Thanks for your answer.
I just tried that, i figured I'd try that before taking the whole thing apart, but it didn't work. I even tried without the power switch and turning it on by shorting the pins but it keeps restarting.

I'm in the process of taking it apart and reassembling it outside the case. I'll let everyone how it goes, a lot of cable management to undo.

Forget that last part, the symptom is always happening, i probably wasn't paying attention before.

I have taken apart the pc and reassembled it out side of the case, it keeps happening.

Any more ideas? I thought about updating the bios but apparently I have the last version.

I'll probably have to RMA it, everything is brand new and under warranty.

Now this is just weird. I took it to the store, after all the same tests i did they swapped out not only the psu but the motherboard as well, it all seemed to be working, i took it home and after one hour it started happening again.

The computer is already connected to a UPS with no other stuff connected to it. And in the store it keeps happening so it doesn't seems like it's my electrical instalation.

Currently having this same problem, including the delay (~1hr) from cold boot before it starts happening.

My specs are:
MSI H270 GAMING M3
INTEL Pentium G4560
2 x 8GB Kingston ValueRAM 2133MHz DDR4
onboard graphics
EVGA Supernova 750W G2

booted both win7 and Ubuntu and system fails to shutdown under both. Guess its a hardware problem. finally upgraded BIOS today from 2 to 2.2, problem remains. Setup is now out of chassis, so after weeks wasted on this I guessing yet another buggy CPU/mobo combination for this motherboard...
