Will a 1050 TI work in my PC?

I have my hands on 2 x 1050 TI, one for a new build and the other I can't decide whether to return or use in my home (main) rig.

I'm worried that it won't work, I'm scared that once I open my home PC everything bad that ever can happen will happen :') it's been going since 2012, and I pretty much exclusively play WoW on it, some Guild Wars 2, some other old games... Here are the specs:

Intel Core i5 2400 3.1GHz Socket LGA 1155 6MB L3 Cache
Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3 Z68 Socket 1155 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz HyperX CL9 1.5V
OCZ Fatal1ty Series 550W Modular PSU
Sapphire 6870 1GB GDDR5

So firstly, would the 1050ti work in there?
Secondly, would there be a big performance increase?

Just trying to make my mind up between putting £125 back in the bank and seeing improved gameplay to extend the life of my old 2012 friend :)

Solution
That would be a yes to both questions.
The card will work just fine with your rig and it will provide a nice boost over the current GPU, while using less power too.

OK that's great, thank you! Would I need to update my BIOS at all do you know?

So far on the to do list:

Uninstall old drivers
Unplug power
Ground myself
Remove old card
Push GPU in
Done

Should be all right?

Edit: All done and sorted. Only hiccup came from using the disc to install Gigabyte software, 50% in and it said the files were corrupted. After clicking OK on that GeForce Experience installed and I was away. Big improvement to WoW, good times!
