Hello guys,

A few months ago I decided to create a new build, aimed for gaming but with a good OC capability to explore.

My build have the following components at the moment:

  • Motherboard: MSI Z170A SLI PLUS
    CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K (Skt 1151)
    RAM: G.Skill DDR4 Ripjaws V 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200Mhz
    Graphics: MSI GTX 1060 GAMING X 6GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston V300 120GB (Took it from the previous build :p)
    HDD: 1TB
    PSU: XFX TS430W 80+ Bronze

So now that you have met my boy let's talk about serious stuff, my MSI Motherboard died on me and it isn't covered by the warranty so I will need get a new one but I need you advice/help to pick the right one, now with 7th Gen Intel CPU "Kabylake" a new Chipset was born (270 series) and these motherboards are compatible with my "old" 6th Gen so, should I aim for a motherboard with the newest chipset, looking forward in the future or should I stick with the Z170 series?

My budget is around 200€ I can raise a bit more if the Motherboard justifies.

By the time I was building this build I was thinking about a MSI powered PC but nevermind that now :p All my ASUS motherboards are still alive and with good health the last MSI motherboard, before this one also gave me problems.

So putting this I have a few Motherboards in sight:

  • ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII RANGER Z170 SKT 1151 + Free Front Base
ASUS ROG STRIX AURA Z270E GAMING SKT 1151 + Free Front Base
    MSI Z170A GAMING M5 SKT 1151
    MSI Z270 Gaming M5
    MSI Z270 SLI Plus
Asus ROG Strix Z270F Gaming + Oferta ROG Front Base

So what's your opinion? Wich motherboard should I get?

PS: I will also upgrade my PSU to a Seasonic M12II Evo Edition 620W Full Modular.

First the internal ethernet stopped working, hardware related problem and a few days ago it freezed my whole computer and I reseted him and it didn't even booted to bios, I tried alot of things, removing battery, replacing stuff, etc... it turned On the lights but nothing more. So I sent it to warranty but they noticed there were some bended pins so... bad luck for me.

I will picked up in a few days but I'm already looking for a new Motherboard....
