Hi everyone,I have been wondering could I put my old samsung monitor into use since I got my new GPU(GTX 1080 G1 Gaming),so I hooked it up via an hdmi-to-vga adapter because its vga only(by the way its 1680X1050p).It works just fine with windows but I was wondering could I use Nvidia Surround with it without having the middle of the picture between the bezels.Imagine a triple monitor setup but take away 1 monitor(for example the right one)and leave the other 2 monitors as they are?Can I do that with dual monitors? And if yes how?

Yes you can use Nvidia surround with 2 monitors, No it will not work the way you want it to. There is no way to tell the surround to use a set number of monitors, 3 in this case, but only have 2 plugged...

Yes you can do that and it is the surround function in Nvidia settings. I have a three monitor setup and it's freakin amazing. You do get used to the bezels and there is a setting in nvidia to "blend" the display between the bezels. Really helps to have identical monitors, even 3 inexpensive 1920x1080.

It will set the surround to 2 monitors and split the screen middle of the screen at the bezels.

I run two monitors at home and only game on 1 since it does the split right in the middle of the screen if I use surround. I will game on the left screen and use the internet or watch a movie on the right.

I wouldn't recommend spending $700 on a gtx 1080, just to hook it up to an extremely cheap/low resolution monitor, especially running your video through an analog vga adapter. That's called wasting your money. You're also going to get ridiculously high fps from running such a strong card on such a low resolution, which will cause higher than normal cpu utilization.

I didn't buy the GPU because of that it's just something that came to mind because I found that monitor gathering dust.I bought the 1080 to be able to run games maxed out at 1080p(including aggressive anti aliasing such as MSAA 8X etc.)
