The specs:
Asus z170-a motherboard
EVGA GTX 1070
I5-6600k with hyper x 212 cooler
16gbe ddr4 corsair vengeance
EVGA 750 GQ - gold cert PSU

So this is my first build I spent 5 + hours building this pc today. (Yeah it took me a while I haven't done this before)

I finally got it up and running all the fans and led lights were working. YAY.
I plugged in my 1tb hard drive and a bootable windows 10 USB.

I didn't get POST and the BOOT_DEVICE_LED was a constant red light.

I was pressing the keys on start up to try and get to the bios so I could boot from the USB.

After this didn't work I decided to plug in my SSD that hashe my current windows 10 installed ob my old rig.

When I plugged this in and turned the pc on it powered up and within 5 seconds shut down again.

Now there's nothing not even turning on anymore.

I might add that over the last few weeks my ssd has been suddenly became unrecognised?
(Maybe my ssd was on its way out?)

So my question is, did I just fry my brand new pc by using a potentially broken ssd?

I have disconnected both the hdd and ssd and it still won't turn on.
I don't get any lights on the motherboard.

Please help me I tried very hard to get this pc working and spent a lot of money. I hope I haven't fried it.... :(

Have you removed the power plug from the PSU, removed the battery from the motherboard and pressed the power button for seconds? Once everything is reconnected and turned on it might work. Basically that's an overly complicated CMOS reset. Your motherboard may have a CMOS reset button on the I/O panel.

The possibly sick and dying SSD wouldn't fry an entire PC. I've done the same and nothing happened other than it wasn't recognized. There's something else that was done.

I just plugged my psu into my old pc and it did the same thing.
Now I plugged my old psu back into my old pc and it works again.
Must be my new PSU not working then???

Also even before this happened I still wasn't able to see post and the BOOT_DEVICE_LED was a constant red light.
