I got a question i can't seem to find an answer to.
Is the X99-E onboard sound better than the Sound Blaster Recon3D PCIe ?
And most important can you proof it ?

I'm satisfied with onboard audio these days. My big problems in the past were always EMI and input noise. The extra shielding they started doing seems to have taken care of that.

Now you can get boards with replaceable op-amps, so I assume that makes it more configurable for more professional uses. If you need more than simple headphone/headset/speakers then you might consider a discrete sound card.

Signal to noise ratio is the ratio of quality sound to noise. This measurement is used to measure many devices including receivers, CD players, DVD players, etc. Usually the higher the decibel (Db), the better the quality of sound. For instance, a signal to noise ratio of 90 or 100 decibels is considered high fidelity.
So i thought it was the same for computer sound cards.

I agree completely with that. I can tell you from my experience the Recon is a better audio solution. I have both on board and the add on card and to be honest purchased the card for the features. I've never dug deep in specifications on either, mostly because I believe PC digital audio would never be considered High fidelity, at least not be me. I've got a decent logitech 5.1 system and am quite happy.

Sorry, I can't prove it per your original post

I think i've found my answer

X99 -E Crystal Sound 3:
Realtek® ALC1150 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC featuring Crystal Sound 3
- Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel Jack-retasking
- High quality 112 dB SNR stereo playback output (Line-out at rear) and 104 dB SNR recording input (Line-in)

Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D PCIe:
Output SNR
- 106dB
Outputs
- Analogue 5.1 surround, headphones, optical

More of a money waist for me than a upgrade, or am i seeing this wrong ?

I got the card for free so i did not spend any money on it :p my uncle gave it to me because his computer was also using Crystal Sound 3 and the guy at the store said it's better to take the card out because it will give a little bit of more air flow and better sound, i'm not a big sound card guy i never even had one, i do build computers and put them all together but never have i ever played around with sound cards, i might give it a go just to check it with my own ears since i got it for free, but i do find posts in google, people saying that the Recon is more stable and actually give better sound quality, but i don't know what to believe because on paper it's the Crystal Sound 3.0 that has the upper hand.
I do wish to get a website where you can compare Sound cards VS onboard cards, like we have with the GPU's and CPU's.
Maybe a good idea for someone who knows how to do these things.
