Random Ping Spikes and internet loss all of a sudden?!

So i have had no problem with the internet for years, We are Superfibre Talk Talk, i connect my desktop with a Wireless USB stick, recently i have been getting massive lag spikes on team speak, and when watching streams and playing games they will kick me out or freeze and buffer?!, then my internet will disconnect, i have tried several of these USB's and they do the same...,

So i bought a Wireless card, this seems to be worse than the USB for some reason and i dont know why...,

Last thing i done was phoned Talk talk, and they done some tests, (Didn't really help me out) they then said that my Firmware was outdated and they needed to update and to do this my internet will have to be offline for 40mins, so i waited the 40 mins, turned it back on, guess what, internet on my PC is still shit....

Mine and another member of my family's internet on our phones also randomly turn off and to get it back we have to turn the internet off and on in the phone for it to work again, what is happening? is it my PC that is messed up or just the internet? i dont understand as the internet used to be fine up until a few weeks now.

So contacting Talk talk yesterday all they done was took me through a series of things which honestly did nothing, after an hour of looking she finally found out my modem was outdated, updated it said itll take me 40 mins, end off call... still internet is shit.

You suppose its my Modem that is the problem? do i need to contact them to get someone to look? do i need to change?

it can possibly be still the modem. it sounds like all they did was push a firmware update to it or nothing at all. i would call back to try to get someone to take a look at it

Explain that your internet connections is unusable at times, all devices disconnect and tell them what you need to do to reconnect, also ask them what speed you should be getting for download and upload, ask them to verify that's the speed you are getting. I know talking to them is frustrating, the first people you talk to really don't have much in the way of tools to fix the problem. You can always ask for a higher level or support, just tell them your not happy and want the problem fixed, without being an ass
