Hello, please first upgrade your BIOS to latest, then reset CMOS and load Optimized Defaults. If that doesn't resolve your issue, then please try XMP with only 2 RAM modules installed in slots 1,3 or 2,4 depending on your mobo.

Hope this helps

no that didnt work. my BIOS is updated i checked ASUS. i removed the battery to reset the CMOS and i think it did because my time and date when crazy. then i load the optimal default and change the XMP to Profile #1 which is the 3401MHz and save and exit out and the PC got stuck again on black screan.

Thank you for trying CMOS reset first. Please look through the two RAM lists on this support page for your RAM part number to see if XMP is supported with 4 DIMMs. some of them only support 2 DIMMs: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_QVL/

If it is supported on 4 DIMMs then you may be able to manually set the RAM timings close to the XMP profile and get it to boot.

Ok for that part # it says the board supports only 2 DIMMs with 16-18-18-38 timing. So you can try slots 1,3 or 2,4 with 2 DIMMs only and see if that works. You can also manually set to those timings or start with looser timings and see if it boots then work your way up. There are many guides out there on how to do that.

Hope this helps

it said on the Motherboard DDR4 3400 Qualified Vendors List (QVL) is:

*CORSAIR CMD16GX4M4B3400C16 ver. 4.23 16GB(4GB*4) 16-18-18-38
and i have :
*CORSAIR CMK16GX4M4B3400C16 ver. 4.24 16GB(4GB*4) 16-18-18-36, is that the problem?...one letter?...no way?
