Hi Guys,

Just build a new system on the Asus Z270E Strix motherboard, LGA 1151, i7 7700k processor. On booting up I get a message stating the following.

"CPU fan speed error detected. Ensure that the CPU fan is properly installed on the CPU_Fan header or adjust/disable the Fan Speed low limit option in the UEFI BIOS.

Once you go into the BIOS it detects the CPU fan, and the OS loads once exiting the BIOS.

I've checked the cooler and it's fitted correctly. Now my suspicion is a compatibility issue with the cooler as I am using the Corsair H80 from my previous Ivy bridge build. I was informed the H80 was compatible with the LGA 1151, hence why I am using it. Can the community provide me some guidance on this?

Well, what is plugged into the CPU fan header?

No reason it wouldn't be compatible, it has a pump and fans that could be supplying an RPM signal to the fan header, and that is all that cares about.

Also the error message. Pumps tend to run a lower RPMs and many motherboards, pretty sure this applies to anything recent, have a setting for pumps.

It's just an error. The pin only makes it post. There's no rpm reported which throws an error.

Go to advanced settings in the bios and find the fan readout monitor tab. Go down to cpu fan where. it ways NA and change it to ignore.

It's just the way corsair has their AIO system setup.
