You can swap your CD player for a DVD/CD burner. They attach and connect the same. Windows will recognize the new hardware. The only exception would be if yours is from the Pentium4 era, you might have an IDE drive instead of SATA. IDE had flat gray ribbon cables, SATA has a 1/2" wide data cable.
