Low Gpu Usage With GTX 1060

Specs
Gpu: GTX 1060 6gb
Cpu: AMD FX 8350
PSU: EVGA 700w Bronze

I have reinstalled drivers with DDU and i am still having problems in most games i have 30%-50% gpu usage. It is probably my old cpu but most games still recommend the FX 8350 with the 1060. Almost every game has bad fps except overwatch which maintains 60fps 100% of the time with 70%-90% gpu usage. If my cpu is the problem what am3+ socket compatible cpu should i get to get rid of these problems.

Your current CPU is holding you back. The FX8350 CPU is one of the top AM3+ CPUs. There is one better AM3+ CPU (FX-8370) but it won't make much difference. I'm afraid that the AM3+ platform is dead and you have no CPU upgrade path at the moment. If you want to increase your system's performance you should get a new CPU, motherboard and RAM. That said you could always overclock your current CPU and get more performance in games but don't expect miracles.

Temps are totally normal (45c-48c) a lot of people have told me that the 8350 is bad and i should get a new cpu but i dont really have the money atm so im just looking for the best way to run games while keeping my current cpu

I GOT IT!! I had the same problem, but it turns out I set my Windows power usage to Power Saving! Which I guess Windows saw that the 1060 was power hungry, so it was limiting its activity
