So i decided i wanted to watercool my system first time doing so. Everything went well but as i booted up my PC after bleeding the system for the first time i had a cmos error and had to blow out my system. But my GPU is not being detected by my mobo so im thinking i killed it. I decided to take out the GPU and put back on the stock cooler and put it in another system i have to see if it still works, it does. Then i put it back in my system to see if it sees it and it does put back on the waterblock and retry. It doesn't work

What motherboard, GPU waterblock, water pump and PSU (try be more specific)

  • ■ Slot, try borrow PCIE card and instate it on the slot to see if it work, during leakage test, did you notice any leak sip onto PCIE slot?
    ■ PSU and water pump, some pump use up to 25 watt (typical D5 setting 5 or 100% PWM) try different molex or 4 pin connector and connect directly to PSU (if you now connect pump to motherboard's pump header).
    ■ Try not to use stock cooler or waterblock, quickly enter BIOS to see if your strix detected, if it does then just shut down, if it not then you should contact ASUS and ask why your GTX 1080 Strix is not switch on when not plugged to its own fan header!
FYI had the exact problem with directCU cooler and ASUS CS replied was not pertinent to my question.

For the waterblocks im using EK for both my GPU and CPU and my motherboard is the EVGA Z170 Classified K, PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 PS

- as for the leak there were none

- ill try using a different molex and 4 pin but my pump works good

-the thing is i took off my waterblock to see if my motherboard would see it and while the stock was on i had plug all the cords in and the fans were not working on for a few secs but ill try to see if it see it without a block on it
