Hi everyone. Many thanks in advance for reading.

My computer displays on the pc properties that I have 16 Gb but only 14 Gb usable.

I've run test's on memtest. No issues.

I've tried replacing the memory making sure it's properly seated.

I've tried to run msconfig and no results either. (although, whenever I change the values to max memory in RAM under advanced boot settings it resets it self back to 14Gb.)

My components are:

RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 DIMM Desktop Memory (HX421C14FBK2/16)

CPU: Intel core i5 6600k

Mobo: Gybabyte Z170N.

Any suggestions?

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Tomas_14 : "16 Gb only 14 usable."

Hi everyone. Many thanks in advance.

I have only 14 Gb of usuable ram but nI have 16 Gb installed.

I've tried to re seat the RAM sticks and nothing happened (made sure they were properly seated.)

I've run memtest and no issues were registered.

I've tried running msconfig and change the maximum value for the RAM to 16 but every time I restart my PC I still get 14Gb. And the value is back at 14.

My components are:

RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 DIMM Desktop Memory (HX421C14FBK2/16)

Mobo: gigabyte Z170N.

Os: windows 10 pro 64 bit.

Any suggestions?

When you load windows operating system on your PC where do you think it stores the working OS to be able to run it Thomas ?

Yes that`s right windows Operating system uses part of the 16 Gb of total ram fitted to the system.
As one loaded from a hard disk device or a SSD drive it is memory resident.

That is why you only have 14Gb of system memory free, as said it is the total amount of system memory left over for running other programs or games on your system.

Otherwise how would windows be able to run at all ?

Try Reseating the RAM if you are concern about performance.
