I had my heart set on a i7 7700k when i plan to sell my z170 mobo and processor to my friend, but i saw the ryzen cpus getting released soon and was wondering if i should buy ryzen or intel.
I've literally only seen cinebench runs so if the gaming performance is the same i'll go with intel but if there is a significant difference in games ill switch over.

Honestly we are all in the same boat, i think it would be worth it to just wait it out and see benchmarks on the 2nd and make the decision then.

No clue until retail products are in hand and there's something to compare intel's offerings to in pertinent benchmarks.

Ryzen's up for preorder but no telling how supply will be. Even though it's due out the first week of March other things factor in as well such as motherboard availability, a brand new release of hardware tends to be a bit of a bumpy ride for a short bit. Intel had similar issues with skylake at release, gpu's have gone through the same. What seems only a week or two away could still be over a month away depending how everything goes.

My choices are down to
i7 7700k and a Gigabyte Gaming K7
i7 6800k with an ASUS X99-E
R7 1700 with an am4 board (probably an Asus or Gigabyte board)
These 3 would be just fine with me, and i would just want the best of the best, but time will tell if those 8 cores that amd has packing really improve game performance
My most likely choice is the 6800k, i have a gtx 1070 which is plenty and the 6800k is the middle road between the 1700 and the 7700k
Also this generation has too many "7s"

i really could care less about synthetic benchmarks, i wanna see games.
The only game i see testest was the r7 1700 and a 7700k in gta v and they were similar but who knows if that test was false or true
Im waiting patiently, money burning a hole for what i plan to choose.....

i have a 6600k and a Maximus VIII Hero, but the thing is my friend wants to buy the motherboard and cpu from me for like $300. I have also had troubles with this board that my friend really doesn't care about so i plan to buy this if i upgrade to z270

The benchmarks weren't staged, a couple of youtubers approved them.
