Hello! Yesterday I felt nostalgic and found two ancient systems at my local computer store! One of them has the classic Pentium Pro with a whooping 200MHz processor and 64mb ram! And I also found out that there are quake 2 and 3 servers still online with players on them but my old relic is missing the network/ethernet card *sad beep* and I was wondering if I could buy any random network card ( there's still alot to choose from) or do I need an ancient card that's more dedicated? I could in worse case use the old card from the other pc but I think I'm gonna use that one for counter-strike, half-life and other more power hungry games because it has a better graphics card and processor.

Thank you! Yeah I think that ol' tinker actually has PCI ports, the sound card and possibly the video card looked like they were located in PCI ports. Not sure though, have to check when I get home. So I guess most computer stores should have contemporary cards. The drivers will be a journey though haha

Yeah I thought so, the place I got the pc from though told me they only cleaned the pc, never formatted it completely so if I'm lucky maybe the old PCI and network drivers are still there. I can tell there has been a network card there before. Maybe I need specific drivers though. Some cards "don't need drivers" aka plug and play but that may only concern newer systems
