Sudden drop in performance

First off I have an i5-4460, GTX 970, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD and running Win 10.

All of a sudden I have gotten a decrease in my PC's gaming performance. It's not a gigantic drop in fps but it's still unacceptable. Games where I usually stay at 60fps constantly (Vsync on) now have drops to the low 50's and sometimes even 40's. It just recently started this in the last week or so. My GPU and CPU usage and temps are all good and I have reinstalled my graphics drivers several times (even rolling back to the previous driver).

I'm not sure what the problem could be. Could my HDD be failing? I've been having trouble with it causing my system to freeze but after I unplugged the sata cable and plugged it into a different port that issue stopped. Should I reinstall Windows? Not sure what else to try. Thanks to whoever offers solutions.

Solution
Monitor GPU+CPU temperatures, something might be overheating. Because of dust, for example. Use MSI Afterburner to monitor this with an overlay.

When did you update your graphics drivers for the last time?
