Need to replace CPU.. need a Budget CPU that matches my current

Current - i7 2600k 3.4 GHz

Need a CPU as cheap as possible that matches the performance at least.
Located in Australia so AUD currency.

Have you attempted to start it in safe mode and to run the game yet? Have you actually monitored your temperatures? Because the only nod I see to temps is that you've replaced case fans. I don't suspect this is the issue as you stated you ran both CPU and GPU stressors and those in and of themselves did not crash anything.

Does the machine crash when you uninstall your GPU drivers and try to run the game? You will still be able to run the game--you will not have the benefit of the utilization of NVidia's drivers; but you will be able to run the game ("will be able to" in loose terms here).

I will attempt safe mode now, as for your other questions.

I have not uninstalled GPU drivers and tried to run the game yet either, will do that after safe mode if problem consists.

Yes, been monitoring temps and load the whole time up until crash. Both CPU and GPU temps are always below 65C.

I can stress test GPU100% and no crash, as well as CPU 100% no crash but if i stress test BOTH cpu and gpu, a few minutes in the GPU crashes and fans spin to 100% as they do when i play a game.

So i've determined that there is a problem when both of the components are put underload, with replacing all things except the cpu, the cpu must be fried from a previous PSU that had a malfunction and fried any hard drive that was plugged in?

Well it's a 750 W Coolermaster, should be able to supply both at low loads.
How would i check it's able to do this then incase that is the problem.

I am running the same CPU with a GTX 1060 and a 650 Watt power supply. When I installed the new video card it ran fine until I tried playing anything demanding when it crashed. I thought the old power supply was more than adequate but replacing it with a new unit solved all the problems. The old power supply was only a year old but evidently the power distribution or quality wasn't good enough to supply the needed power.

I am in the same boat as you, as for wanting to get a replacement for the i7-2600k.. I have began doing research on ryzen as it's seeming to blow Intel's chips out of the water... at least at multithreading, however, 90% of us simply use single threaded apps/programs thus rendering it a hard decision. I am still between an i7-7700k, i7-6700k, and a ryzen 1700x

No because i've heard/read that touching the voltage / power target could fry the GPU or CPU if you're not sure what your doing. And im not sure what im doing in that regard.

Will update when i get a new PSU if it fixes it or not.. very annoying because losing the core clock of 90Mhz Loses about 10fps in some games on max.
