Hey everyone :D

Just wanted some opinion on an i7 7700k or a i7 6800k as a CPU upgrade for my gaming pc. I have been needing a CPU upgrade for a while and now i have enough saved up to go ahead and buy everything, yet I am caught up on which to buy since this will be a pretty expensive upgrade.

I would ideally like to stream using obs, using x264 as the encoder with the resolution at 1080x720p @ 60FPS. I also would like to be able to have good FPS in most modern games and the cpu intensive ones too like Arma 3.

Below are two PC part picker lists for the CPU's, let me know what I should be looking for in a streaming/gaming PC and any suggestions are much appreciated!

-- Also, yes I know Ryzen is a thing, but I would prefer to stick to Intel processors --

I7 7700k Build : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pRk4Ps

I7 6800k Build : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pZYFpb

Thanks everyone :D

Solution
The difference is negligible.

Get whichever is cheapest.

Since it's CSGO, it's not gonna use more than 1-2 cores/threads. So that leaves you with 6 more threads on the 7700k you can dedicate for OBS.

Check out Process Lasso to permanently assign threads to programs so they aren't trying to share them: www.bitsum.net
