Hello!

My "My Passport SE" Drive isn't recognized by my Computer anymore.

At some point it showed the message "Bad PCB". So I think the USB-Connector is dead.

Anyway I want to get the data from it, so what should I do?

There is no SATA-Connector on it, just a connector I don't know.

Has anybody experience with that?

Solution
Ohh okay the hard drive has the controller board integrated into the motherboard of the drive itself.
you see the connector on the right (usb30) the male part is inside the female receptacle. using a thin nosed plier or similar tool you may be able to pull it out without damaging the female part then it just get another cable.
the usb port is the only suable one (if you have the Se usb 2.0 or 3.0 I see no manufacturer images showing anything else if your has,m click a picture and upload it to imgur.com for us to see)

yes you can crack the case open and use the laptop drive inside like any other drive in a desktop with a proper bracket. or slap it into a cheaper case with USB 3, such as this one I use, works wonders and is usb2.0 compatible,

HornetTek 2.5" Enclosure USB 3.1 newegg sells it for 20$
I bought mine at frys.com, I own 3 because I get a lot of laptops drives handed to me, and I format them all before repurposing them, but this will do the trick for your problem, take drive out slap it into a new case and continue, I love them because its slip drive into sata connector board close cover plug in type of design,. no screws what so ever.

If the circuit board is dead then the only chance you have is like Paladin said and crack open the case and use a different usb-to-sata adapter or plug directly into sata port on desktop.
Now there is still a chacne this wont work because some drives put "protections" into the firmware on it so that it will ONLY work with their usb-to-sata adapters.

Hopefully this will be a lesson for you. An external drive should never be the ONLY location of your data. They are actualy lower quality drives then what is inside your computer and the drive is always a fall off your desk (while powered and spinning) away from complete and utter failure. You put the second copy of yoru data on an external as a backup or as a mobile copy but never as the single source of the data. It doesnt help that market has added confusion calling the external drives "backup drives"; so less knowledgeable users put the only version of that file on the drive and think that because the drive has the word "backup" on it that means all the data on it is backuped up now right!

Thanks for the quick response :)
I just updated my question and added a picture so you can see what I mean.

The USB Connector is dead. But what are those other connectors?
Is there a way to adapt them to SATA?
