Hi guys, i recently build a desktop with the specs below:
CPU- i5-7400
GPU- Zotac GTX1060 3GB Amp Edition
MoBo- Asus H110M-K
PSU- 550w
Operating System: Windows 10 64bit

So here's the problem. My games would not automatically run on GPU, instead they run on CPU. If i want my games to run on GPU, i have to disable my CPU in device manager. I've tried reinstall the drivers. Any help?

Solution
Yes. The only scenario to keep iGPU enabled is when you have multi-monitor setup with some monitors connected to iGPU. Otherwise, it's just a waste of resources to keep it enabled.

But of course you can. Otherwise, if you had 2 monitors, one on GPU and other on iGPU, you would be stuck with iGPU monitor, which makes little sense.

As far as the op, it seems he has 1 monitor. There is no game or piece of software that he can use to switch with 1 monitor. But I don't understand what you just said. Right now I have a rig with 2 monitors, 1 on igpu and 1 on dgpu and can switch only by switching main monitor in windows. I'm well aware of multi mixed gpu configs with amd, nvidia and intel all together at once over the years.

If all your monitors are connected to GPU, then definitely yes.

yeah my monitor is connected to GPU. Which means I can have my iGPU disabled even when I'm doing normal stuff like browsing, watching movies and more? just to double confirm...

It didn't mention anywhere. But there's no apps shown on GPU activity when I'm game if i did not disable it in device manager.
