black screen when go to use any sort of games or programs to do with games

when ever i go to use anything to do with games such as minecraft or anything on steam my screen turns black and i gotta turn the pc off and back on to do anything anyone know if theres a program or some live support to help me with my problem ?

i never altered the overclocking as it was already pre set when i bought it a few years ago
