Hello everyone,
I am from portugal, and I am thinking on buy an Sli of EVGA Gtx 1070 FTW Hybrid directly from the website of EVGA, but recently i searched on ebay and I saw several GTX 1080 (some of them are new ones) on ebay for 500 dollars nearly the same price of an GTX 1070 FTW Hybrid.

I have in my computer a GTX Titan X (Maxwel) and I want to make an upgrade in my gpu, so I want to sell my GPU and pay the difference up to a total value 1000 dollars.

What should I do ?

Well, yeah. The 1080 has more performance in it's own right by itself than a 1070 by itself. Regardless of the cooling solution, a card is a card underneath.
The cooling solution allows the cards to perform at higher operating power (more usage) without getting too hot.

If you want to get two 1080s and mount your own AIO. Even two 1080s that aren't directly on top of each other (use an EVGA bridge I think it is to space them out a few spaces to a lower PCIe slot), and enough airflow to push that air out of the case, and you'll be perfectly fine with even air cooling.

Reference cooling just doesn't cut it for performance, at all. It's for specific situations.

Honestly, instead of buying two 1080's you can just buy a Titan x Pascal, or...

FE is crap, if you can't get a regular Titan X Pascal, or anything other than 1080 FE, go with the 1080 EVGA.

Only thing that would make FE even good is if you absolutely need reference cooling, but this kind of kills performance, or if you replace the stock cooler with AIO or aftermarket air cooling.

There's plenty of cards from all of the major manufacturers that sell for up to 100 or more than the FE.

Yes I understand that I should avoid the 1080 FE, but i talk about that, because on ebay I found more 1080 FE around 500-600 dollars but I also found cards with more fans from others manufacters at this price, so what I really want would be make an sli of GTX 1080 HYBRID, but I dont find 1080 hybrid for 600 dollars, so what I am asking is that is better make an sli of GTX 1070 HYBRID buying directly from EVGA OR an sli of GTX 1080 without the cards being Hybrid from ebay.

Also I prefer an sli of 1070 than one single 1080

So you are sayng that I will get better performance with an sli of 1080 with air cooled than with a sli 1070 hybrid.

So if i find two 1080 for a good price on ebay without being the FE ones I sould buy it instead of buy two 1070 Hybrid.

Honestly, instead of buying two 1080's you can just buy a Titan x Pascal, or wait a few days and find out the announce date of the 1080 ti and get one of those by itself. Your best option is finding a single card that is really good, SLI just isn't that great.
