I was considering purchasing the Gigabyte GTX 1050ti and was wondering does it draw power from the motherboard or...

Solution
Depends. MSI's 1050Ti 4GB Requires a single 6-pin connector. I reccomend msi's one if you're going to overclock it.
I know that both Gigabyte's and EVGA's don't require one; Strangely EVGA's 1050ti 4GB does have solder connections on the board for it but the socket's just not there.

So in a nutshell: No, the majority of 1050ti's dont require a 6 pin connector, with MSI being an exception.

The majority of 1050 Ti's available on newegg do not require auxiliary power, not most.
