There's variations of the 1050 that have additional power ports, and some that do not.
The ones that do not have PCIe power ports do draw power off the mobo directly.

Note that all of them will "draw power from the motherboard." Some will draw ADDITIONAL power, or even most of their power, from a PCIe power connector.

Depends. MSI's 1050Ti 4GB Requires a single 6-pin connector. I reccomend msi's one if you're going to overclock it.
I know that both Gigabyte's and EVGA's don't require one; Strangely EVGA's 1050ti 4GB does have solder connections on the board for it but the socket's just not there.
So in a nutshell: No, the majority of 1050ti's dont require a 6 pin connector, with MSI being an exception.
