Alrighty, now I've been racking my head for days trying to see what is the problem with my internet and have come up dry. Essentially my problem is as the title would lead you to believe, my ethernet cable is connecting to my router and will not give me internet access. I've done a lot of forum hunting so I wouldn't have to post my problem but I can't seem to find a single solution that will work for me and hope someone here can give me some insight and help.

I'm going to list off a few things that I've done to alleviate the problem.

I've power cycled my router and computer
Updated drivers
Flushed my dns
Etc.

In addition I eliminated the problem being on the router and ethernet cable's end by plugging it into a different computer and verifying that it does work, just not on my computer. Here is my ip config if that'll provide anyone useful information. Oh, and one more thing before I wrap up the information portion of this, the only help I get from the diagnostic tool is that my configuration is set up right however the DNS server is not responding.

I've worked here and there personally with computers but by no means have any experience with networking. If anyone could help me with my dilemma much would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Try resetting your network settings. This usually clears out all sorts of unreliable connection issues on an otherwise reliable network.

Open a Command prompt as Administrator (open start menu, type CMD, right click Command Prompt, Run as administrator)
Type "netsh int ip reset c:\reset.log" without quotes
press enter
Type "netsh winsock reset"
press enter

Go into Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings
Right click on each network connection and choose disable

Open start menu type "Device Manager"
Open Device Manager
Expand "Network Adapters"
Right click each adapter and choose "Uninstall"
DO NOT check the box to delete the drive just click OK

Restart your computer

After it has restarted it should see the adapters and reinstall them. Then you can reconnect to your network if it is Wireless or it should automatically connect to a wired network after the adapter has installed.

Open the start menu and type "Internet Options"
Open "Internet options"
Click on the "Advanced" tab
"Restore advanced settings" and "Apply"
click "Reset..." check "Delete personal settings" click "Reset" click "OK"

Note: This will delete any previously stored wireless networks. This will also reset the home page, passwords, forms, &c in Internet Explorer. Possibly Edge too.

Thanks for the super fast response, but unfortunately it didn't work out as sad as I am to say it. Although it did prompt me that resetting failed and it denied me access in the command prompt, so that might factor why it still won't let me connect.

Yes, to answer your question, I do have them both connected at the moment. The motherboard I have didn't have integrated wireless on it so for the most part I used to only run ethernet until I bought an onboard wifi adapter which I used for the most part afterwards but was still able to use both simultaneously without issue. Lemme add this to help my situation even more so, currently when I connect via wifi, it for the most part WILL NOT WORK if I have my lan adapter enabled. It's very funky and finicky at the moment and has never acted this way before. Oh, before I shoot past your question, no, just having my ethernet connection on still does not allow me to connect to the internet.

Hey there Velocityg4! Sorry for the late reply, as you said I simply ran it as administrator which apparently wasn't enough, I looked up elevating the privileges for the command prompt but came up dry, only things showing to run it as administrator. :(

Hey SgtScream! Apologies for the late reply, I do have results from another computer, it is a laptop and doesn't have a ethernet port, I hope that doesn't render it as useless information. xD
