Upfront I'll tell you I'm new to PC building. I used to use Xbox but now I want to switch to PC. I've never worked with the internals of a computer ever. I know people say it's like LEGOs but for adults. I have a rough parts list (subject to change) and I would like an opinion on how well it would work and if everything's compatable. Here is a PC Part picker list I made of roughly what I want https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheMrMunch/saved/. I want a rig that makes games run and look great( I'm just a casual gamer), though I want to keep the build as inexpensive as possible. I have a max of $1500 (though around $1250 or less would be great). If it helps I won't be streaming on twitch or making YouTube videos. I'm also between the 1070 I have on the PC Parts Picker list and a PNY GeForce GTX 1060 6GB. What's the diffrence and would it be enough to notice by a casual gamer. Thanks for the help!

Hi,

The 1060 6gb Is still a decent card and is extremely capable of 1080p gaming.

However for decent FPS when moving up into the 1440p-4k range it would be best to have 1070.

So essentially if you want to future proof the PC and extend the period before you have to upgrade again go with the 1070.
If you're happy to upgrade earlier in the future go with the 1060.

I'd recommend the 1070 though.
