to all or anyone, in the process of getting/building a new gaming rig to run with either a ICX 1080 FTW GPU or the Founder's Edition 1080 and I just need help deciding on which processor route to go, Ryzen or the 6850K from Intel and any idea if a ThermaltakeUSA Ring 3.0 water will fit either one? Please advise. All perspective are highly welcomed.

Considering we can't confirm that Ryzen will perform better than a potato, we really would have to suggest the 6850k.

No one knows if this is going to be Piledriver mk ii.

Either way, for a single GTX 1080 there is absolutely no reason to go broadwell E.

The only reason for a 6850k is to take advantage of extreme threading, or extra PCIE lanes. Neither of which a gaming rig can take advantage of.

2011-v3 isn't suggested for gaming builds.

Here comes the future crystal ball ryzen threads. Dozens today already.

We don't know about Ryzen, 1080ti's, or what will be a good PC to build for black friday in November.

FYI 1080ti is also coming and will probably blow the 1080 out of the water.

Knowing that AMD CPU has drop the bomb on the results when consumers uses it.

Wait for trusted sources (Guru3D, Jayztwocents, LTT, GamersNexus, etc.) to get their hands on these CPU's and run their benchmarking suites before making the final decision. At least, that's what I would do if I were in the market to build a PC from scratch. Then again, I don't like jumping on the early adopter/preorder bandwagon for anything.
