I picked up a 250gb M.2 (Sata, not PCIe) Samsung 850EVO a couple days ago for 90bucks+tax at a nearby Fry's Electronics. My OS had been on an aging dying 8-9 year old 1TB WD Black until then, and my boot times went from 45 seconds to 7 seconds flat, including the 3 second bios screen. The silence from not having a dying HDD less than a meter from my face is amazing. Now my PC runs off of two 250gb~ish SSD's, the Samsung for OS and some games, and my 240GB Adata SP550 for more games and some other stuff. I've got 100GB free on each SSD. I pulled out the HDD and it's sitting on a shelf behind me now.

A true PCIe/NVME SSD is way faster than a SATA drive. Theoretically. It's also way more expensive. Actually.

Like Supahos said, use both...

Like Supahos said, use both SSD's. Why not?

Keep in mind that SSD and RAM prices have inflated by well over 100% in the past half year or so. The 240GB Adata SP550 I bought a year ago at $55 including tax with free shipping from Amaz(ing)on is now, what, 150 bucks? The 2x4GB 1866mhz G.Skill Sniper DDR3 kit I bought 3 years ago for $35 including tax with free shipping from Amaz(ing)on is now $66. Now is not a great time to be buying things with nand chips in them.
