Hey,
So to start off I have my PC connected to the halls of residence ethernet at my uni which has an insane speed: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6057301651
However when playing games most notibly CS:GO, Rocket League and Overwatch I often eaither get high packet loss spikes of up to 50% or have a wierd lag where I teleport back about 1 second but my net graph says I havn't had a packet loss spike or high choke or anything.
I have run a packet loss test in my command for about 4 hours and only lost 2 packets of data even when CS GO said I was loosing 50%.

This problem only occurs at uni and not at home, I have asked the IT support if it's possible to open the required ports if they are not already open however they haven't replied in over 3 weeks now.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix my lag problem (without having to move out)

You really only need ports open on games that are not hosted on a actual server. Pretty much it does not work at all if there are port related issues.

Try a vpn there are a lot that are really inexpensive and provide good performance. This should eliminate any strangeness the college has in their network. There are specialized gaming vpn but I suspect you will be ok with any normal one. I would look for one that has a vpn node in a city very close to you. That way you only run the VPN a short distance but it hides the college network.
