Good graphics card for Windows XP 64-bit

Hello,

I'm a game developer and I have an old, still-working XP 64-bit machine (as well as a Windows 10 machine), and the XP machine serves as a good testing tool to test how well a program runs on old computers.

I'm a bit ignorant about hardware, but here are the specs:

AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-core processor
2.20 ghz, 8 gb of ram (system only reports 7.75 gb of ram)

M3N78 PRO motherboard
This motherboard has an onboard Nvidia GeForce 8300.

650W ATX power supply

What I want to do is find a good as possible (or nearly as good as possible, considering this system) graphics card, that will still work in Win XP 64-bit. All I know for sure is that I need a PCIe x16 card, but I know that most cards now require Windows 7 or beyond which might have something to do with using DX10+. With a good card, as well as the onboard one, I'll be able to performance-test on a "good" and "bad" XP setup.

Is my system able to use a good (for XP 64-bit standards) graphics card, or is there a glaring bottleneck? If I've not given enough specs I will gladly give more. Thank you!

I don't think Windows xp can do DX11/12 . I've heard that it can only support upto dx9?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong ; Just my opinion but I don't use windows xp anymore and as far as I remember, I didn't use windows xp (for gaming)
Anyways, you can get the gtx 750 (Non-ti) they are fairly cheap nowadays and can be bought for less than 80$ or 70 pounds.
But the gpu will be bottlenecked (not much) and I suggest you to upgrade to atleast Windows 7 , (Pirated will do the job fine).

ZT-71101-10L Is the model number of the card i suggested . You can use it if you update to Windows7. It's got 2 GB GDDR5which is good for the price. I am personally using this product.

Check on the nvidia website to see where drivers stop for XP, you will need to take a card from each generation and see if it has xp drivers.

Well, as far as considering GPU drivers, Nvidia has Win XP drivers for anything but gtx10xx series.

So, GT 730, GTX 750, and if I'm understanding, any card that is "below GTX 10xx" will work on XP? As I'm ignorant with hardware, does that mean that any "GTX 9--" would work?

Two more things:

1.) Yes I am -somewhat- on a budget, but not too strict. And I should've mentioned that on the OP -- I wouldn't want to pay more than like, 130$ or so, for a 'new' card since the system is old (and besides, even if I did get the absolute BEST one that XP can utilize, I would probably be bottlenecked by something else anyways, I think?)

2.) I forgot to mention that I use VGA for that computer. From what I understand, not all cards have VGA output. Although - true that I could just get an adapter too.

If what I've said just now changes anything, advice-wise, I'd still want suggestions, But if not I'll be going with one of the already-suggested ones. It's hard to make a decision since I don't really know a lot about this stuff.

Go for the GTX 750 ti as I have seen some although not many people using it on XP
And yes, Nvidia still makes drivers for Windows XP BUT, IT IS NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED !!!

you can still may use up to a gtx 960 / 950 NVidia still supports XP on them

'look at supported products tab under this xp driver [the lower 900 series is the last of the supported xp cards and this is the last xp driver released ]

amd and now NVidia do not support xp or vista under there drivers for there latest cards

use here manually select and see what cards still offer xp support [and will be old if any ]
