Will my PC boot when my Motherboard has no video output?

Hi guys
I am halfway through building a headless server to use dedicated to plex.
The motherboard I have purchased does not have any video outputs(on purpose as once its set up i have no need for a monitor), i originally planned to leave it running 24/7 but in hindsight of saving on the electricity bill i thought i would mess about with WOL packets and automatic sleeps. I intend to put an old Video card in I have lying around to get it all set up then remove the video card after the setup is finished, so my question is after I have installed everything and it is all set up and i remove the video card, will the PC boot or does it need to have an available video output?
thank
Sam

If your board will not post without gpu, I don't see any workaround.
Still you can try if it will work without. Just find out in mobo manual which key works as Save&Exit shortcut in BIOS, build machine without GPU, boot, wait a while, and press the shortcut key. If it reboots then, you have chance to run it without GPU.

ah damn!, i want to run the server headless as i really wont need a monitor at all, and putting in a video card adds on a lot of power requirement, if it probably wont POST, do you have any other solutions to get around this? as theres no need for a monitor and id rather not use the extra 80 watts for 6 hours a day?
thanks
Sam
