i have a strix OC and it is great. the lighting is very good. having said that the gaming x is also good. pick whatever card has a better aesthetic to you or is cheaper. they both the same performance and very similar temps, i believe that the strix might be 1 c cooler but is also a few db louder.

Depends on which exact SKU.
Strix 1070 OC Edition: 1860 Mhz boost clock in OC mode
Gaming X: 1797 Mhz boost clock in OC mode
Strix 1070 Standard: 1721 Mhz boost clock in OC mode
As a side note, the MSI Gaming Z is on par with the OC strix!
I would go for the OC Strix if you can afford it! (Because lighting is good and works with Aura sync!)
