I have an option to buy any of these cards for the same price in my area. Have read a lot of stuff but still can't make a choice...
The main complaints I've found so far are:
Asus has some troubles with its Micron memory in some systems, so needs to update BIOS of this card. Some people say that after updating fans can't stop running even if you are just watching movies.
Gigabyte is too noisy under hard gaming pressure.
Can anyone clarify these moments for me, please?
And which one is better based on quality/performance or your expirience?
System: CPU i7-6700, MB Asus Z170 K, RAM 16 Gb Kingston HyperX Fury, Cooler Thermalright Macho 120 SBM, PSU Seasonic 550W Gold, SSD Samsung 950 Pro 240 Gb, HDD 1,5 Tb WD Green Caviar.

Solution
Got a PM form OP to help out and now i'm here.

Sadly, i don't own any of the Gigabyte or Asus GPUs. Two of GPUs are MSI while the 3rd one is Club3D.

I wouldn't pick any of those 2 GPUs since they are at the cheap end of GTX 1070. You can tell that already by the fact that none of those two GPUs come with a backplate.

I'd collect some more money and go with MSI Gaming X series GPU,

MSI Gaming X GPUs are the quietest with the best cooling of all GTX 1070s available. It also comes with backplate, RGB LED MSI logo and red LEDs on GPU with 3 base/boost clock modes: silent, gaming, OC.

But if i were to choose between those 2 GPUs, i'd go...

Graphics cards do tend to run at a higher temperature on more demanding games, so that could be the issue.
Personally, my GPU never is louder then the typing of my keyboard, so it could possibly be a buildup of dust if you checked the GPU itself? Otherwise, I'd ask the retailer about it.

OK...
So what would you choose between ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 OC DUAL 8G and Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 WINDFORCE OC 8G?

Personally, I would go with the retailer who has the best warranty. Which, I believe ASUS has. I could be wrong.

Why? Because Gigabyte GPUs can be noisy and their cooling isn't the best either. Also, Asus GPU is shorter and doesn't need as much GPU clearance as Gigabyte needs. Oh, Asus is also slightly higher clocked than Gigabyte.

Many thanks!
But if I turn to MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1070 8192MB 256BIT GDDR5 1607/8108 DVIX1/HDMIX1/DPX3/HDCP RET (GTX1070GAMINGX8G), I can buy ASUS STRIX-GTX1070-8G-GAMING GTX 1070, 8GB GDDR5/256-BIT, PCI-EX16 3.0, 1XDVI-D, 2XHDMI 2.0, 2XDP, ATX, 2-SLOT COOLER, RETAIL (STRIX-GTX1070-8G-GAMING) at the same price. The last one is "Republic of Gamers" and I never heard a bad word about this production. Choosing between MSI Gaming X and Asus Strix Gaming would you still stay with MSI?

Now I can see your point of view. But if I can buy Palit GeForce GTX 1070 Game Rock Premium Edition based on info in that article at even lower price than MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X, would it be a better choice in your opinion? Don't know too much about Palit, but these "Hysteresis problems" scare me a little bit...

Sound Results
Let's talk a bit about the one single quality that dominated our impression of this graphics card: its noise level. While some folks might enjoy the deep roar of a well-oiled machine, we the sound of silence from our graphics cards. When it's disturbed, the culprit is usually a fan or sometimes the VRM's coils. But a maximum of 1000 RPM for the two fans should be no reason to declare a state of acoustic emergency.

To examine this behavior in more detail, we need to take a closer look at the fan curve, which unfortunately reveals an unpleasant surprise. Since the fans generally start late and keep quiet, it takes diligent measurement of tachometer signals and PWM values to detect poor hysteresis. Palit confirmed this for us, even.

To put it short, when GPU reaches certain temp, the fans should start spinning. Since it's poorly optimized on Palit GPU, you'll see constant on and off cycles from fans.

If you don't find it annoying then feel free to go with Palit GPU. To me, it shows low build quality and i wouldn't buy Palit GPU, despite the good specs it has.
It's like when you buy a PC case and you know that it comes with nice scratch on it's side window. The scratch may or may not annoy you but in the end it's still a defect of build quality. I'd rather go with a PC case that doesn't have a defect. Or in this case, with a GPU that works without any issues.
