Hey guys, I dont know if this is the correct forum for this, so apologies in advance.

Anyway, just today, I turned off my PC from win10, monitor goes black, as usual, and then my CPU fan spins at what seems to be max speed and just stays there, without turning off.

If I do the smother of death (hold power button to force a system shutdown) It will turn off just fine. But is a weird issue nonetheless.

My PSU is a bit old (4+ years) but is very good quality (Corsair AX850) and has never given me trouble in the past. I do have a current issue with my motherboard GIgabyte G1 Gaming z170x, where my 16x PCI-E slot failed, so I'm using the 2nd one until I get off my ass and pull the system apart and send it in for RMA. But this power off thing just came up today, and I've been using the mobo like that for a week or so.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick replies. Yes, I should've been more specific.

1) All fans stay spinning, but from what I can hear, the CPU one is the only one that goes to 100%, I may be wrong though.

2) CPU Temps are normal, I'm running a 6700k @ 4.6 with a cryorig h7, I'm idling at 26c and the highest I ever got without stressing it was 53c. So I dont think its temp related.
