missing number of processors in MSconfig

yesterday 23 feb, I was trying to cool off my pc and i chaned the number of processors down to 3, the maximum processors i could put were 6, but now the maximum is only 3, how can i turn it up back to 6?? please help, now i can not run games, they are lagging.

Where did you change it ? Msconfig only ? BIOS ? Which processor ? What does device manager say ?

Bump! I have the same problem after new re-install of W7Pro. ticked 2 of 4 by mistake and now maximum in config is 2 So also would like an answer WHERE DID 2 processors go? its obviously a software glitch I hope chriswa2002 has solved it. btw I normally run 4 of 4 cores.

i unchecked the box of the max num of processors, restarted my pc, then turned it back on, checked it, and restarted again, now its working
