Hello. I am looking to build a new rig from the ground up. I will not need any peripherals, monitors, OS or anything but the build.
I will be using this for gaming. I may surf, check email and Reddit, but pretty much strictly for gaming at 1080p@60Hz.
I will be playing at 1080p@60Hz for the foreseeable future. I am admittedly a graphics junkie. I would like to have a solid 60 FPS with all of the bells and whistles turned up.
My budget is roughly $1000 USD and I am in the USA.
I am thinking of an i5 build with 16GB of RAM. The GPU I would like to shoot for is a 1070. I don't know what PSU to get, as well as a good case.
Provide any additional details you wish below.
I am pretty much a novice when it comes to picking compatible parts. That is why I am seeking help here. I will be doing research as I await responses. I am confident, though, that I will be able to put it together.
I stated above that I will be gaming at 1080p@60Hz for the foreseeable future. With that stated, I am all about "future-proofing". I know that word is sometimes not liked, but what I mean is this is a build that I will have for a long time.
I will not be able to upgrade for quite a while. If I have room in my budget, I would shoot for a 1080 GPU. From what I have gathered thus far, an i5 should be sufficient enough for gaming. So, I will not be looking into an i7. I picked 16GB because I have read that RAM is relatively cheap nowadays.
I have no idea what PSU are good and wattage that I should need. Like the PSU, I don't even no where to begin with cases and form factors. I don't want a giant tower, but I would like it to be...anti-dust, if that makes any sense...and somewhat quiet.
I hope that I have provided enough information. Forgive me if I have not, but please let me know if I missed anything. I don't know if it is needed, but I will be playing games like Assassin's Creed, GTA, The Witcher, Total War series, Far Cry, Battlefield series...etc.
