Hi there,

I recently upgraded my GPU from an r9 280 to a MSI Gefore 1060 6gb. I used DDU to wipe the AMD drivers before installing the new GFX card and all of the new drivers. After doing so, I noticed the icons and text looked blurry. I'm currently using an IPS monitor as my main, and a HD TV (plugged into Display Port with an adapter) as my second. The GFX card works well in games for the actual graphics, but it looks like the text in game is sometimes a bit blurry or pixelated too. I'm currently running windows 10. Any idea on what could be going on would be amazing.

Thanks

your image you last linked looks good to me seems clear on my end

there a few reviews on blurry text ??

Cons: Text looks jagged in all programs and there is no way to smooth it out either

Cons: Hard to read text
When shopping on line, there are a lot dark dots on the picture.
Try to adjust the screen resolution, but it doesn't change anything.
did I get a damaged one?

do any of them friends have a monitor you can use to test with ? maybe they will let you try your card on there computer to see ??

is it the same on the hdtv when use alone as a single monitor or the issue just with that asus monitor ??

is it just a issue when you try to use as a dual monitor set...

Hi mate,

Thanks for the response. My main monitor is an Asus VC239 23" capable of 1920/1080 (which I am currently running it at).

I found this article, trying to figure out how to apply this to my system but it seems my inf looks a bit different to his, and the screenshots are missing.

Meh, so frustrating getting a new graphics card to have a shittier looking computer.

maybe the driver try another I had this with a AMD card old driver was fine new driver sucked and blurred text issue went back to old and all was back to good ..

should of just uninstalled the proper way for all you know ''I used DDU to wipe '' may of wiped something it should not of ..

I change out amd to NVidia and back and never had to resort to that gimmickware stuff to uninstall any driver correctly

if nothing else go back to the AMD card and see if its back to right then see if a buddy will let you test the card on his rig to see if its blurry as well ??

NVidia and AMD should have install / uninstall info for all there drivers and how to's and the installer / uninstallers are built in to the driver packages ???

missed you use win-10 [tee hee] may google that around ''windows 10 blurry text '' stuff

seems a bit common

maybe your cable is bad ? I guess you checked if clear type is not disabled ?

http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/calibrate-cleartype-tutorial

''I'm currently running windows 10. Any idea on what could be going on would be amazing'' 10 is amazing alright

look over some of the solved ones maybe a good help answer in one of them ?

just for the sake of asking what is the rest of your build specs ?? did you need a bios update for the latest cards and maybe for using 10 ??

Hi Junkey,

I have updated all my drivers for the mobo and have checked clear text. Still rather baffled.

I'll definitely read through your links though! Fingers crossed.

System specs:
Msi z97 PC mate
G skill ripjaws 8gb
MSI Geforce 1060 0C
intel i5-4690k
2 kingston 1 samsung SSD

Let me know if you need anything else.

look good to go on your specs . thing is why the bios is blurry as well , unless you can test the card on another system monitor and cables ???

see like your boards bios 4-A adds - Improved VGA compatibility. see that may be the diff when using these latest cards [unless you got it or later]

https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z97-PC-Mate.html#down-bios

thing is if the bios is now blurry that has nothing to do with whats in the OS part of things your not to that point in booting yet .

I would also try to unhook all hard drives from the boards sata ports and bot in to bios and then see if its clear [don't ned any drives for that just keyboard bare min parts just to boot in to bios ]

''plugged into Display Port with an adapter'' see that could be a weak link in things ?? cable quality and revisions now play a bigger part guys buy the wrong cable like for example hdmi 1.4 and there monitor is not doing right when they needed a hdmi 2.0 cable that has better support specs that the 1.4 does not cover . little things as that .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

then you can get a cheap made or just a bad one that could cause transmission issues between the card and monitor in some way ?

so I guess you down to some of that process of elimination like I said above to try to weed things down

live dvd of Linux will do that as I said above , free and easy. if he un hooks all that's not needed to just boot in to bios and then the bios is cleared up maybe a hardware issue

[motherboard psu memory and keyboard is all you about need to fire up and enter bios ? ] I'd even remove the gpu and use onboard first as well to see

Hi guys,

Sorry I was away for a bit.

Quick update. I completely wiped my hard drives and re-installed windows from scratch. I even bought an RX 480 to see if this would help. The RX 480 ended up crashing every time I tried to play any game, but that aside, it seems the card wasn't the issue.

With the monitor issue, I re-installed and tested everything again only using the HDMI cable to the Asus screen, still the same problem.

I'm guessing now it's either a MOBO or Monitor problem, or issue with general windows scaling with my configuration.

Junkey Monkey, I will run through your step by step process and get back to you.

Thanks for your continued help

Hi there,

I'm using the HDMI cable that came with the Asus VC239 23"

BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. V4.11, 2/16/2016

just upoaded another image from within my Nvidia control panel. My friends tell me the below image is clear for them but mine is blurry as can be. So strange how games work fine but this....

http://imageshack.com/a/img922/5963/l7pWDe.png

Also, i noticed my previous screen shots looked a lot clearer on my work lap top and when friends viewed it. I'll check again to see if the same applies to this.

Thanks again for the help guys.

you know one thing I don't do is things like a monitor I never mail order I buy locally as I can that's one thing I want to be able to walk in and see it in action and buy it and if theres a issue I walk it right back in and out with a replacement same day not ship it it all over and box it up and talk to a guy 7 states away through a e-mail go round
