I've had this TP-link Archer T8e wifi card for about a year.
A few days ago I was trying to clean out my SSD when in noticed in Windows>Settings>System>Storage that the file "TP-LINK ARCHER T8E Driver" was about 8GB in size. Now i wonder, is it normal for a NIC driver to be this large or is it some kind of caching system that might be getting out of hand? Could it be windows misrepresting some other files?
Could it be registry keys on registry keys on registry keys?
It does say on the TP-link product sheet that the card is compatible with xp/7/8/8.1 but I have Windows 10, I would think that this wouldn't be that much of a problem since they do have a driver specificly made for Windows 10.
I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but no storage space was freed up(, also no storage spage freed up when there was no driver at all installed).
I've tried looking in Windirstat for large files. Found nothing.
I've tried looking in Program Files, Appdata, ProgramData. Found nothing there either.
I've tried looking trough the many faq's on TP-links' website but to no avail.
No, wired isn't an option.
