How big a deal is ASUS BIOS Flashback, really?

Hey,

I'm building a new rig. I've been using ASUS boards for years, and haven't had any real issues. However, I'm at a stand still because I found a mobo I really like(Gigabyte Z170X-UD3 Ultra), but it doesn't have one of the features I've grown very attached to in ASUS boards. I love using BIOS Flashback, it's quick, simple, and sensible. I am one to often flash and patch my BIOS often and play around with settings. While I've never bricked a board before, it was always comforting to know that I could recover from a brick easily using BIOS Flashback. I've never owned a Gigabyte mobo before, so I don't know if it has something similar. The Gigabyte board just goes so much better with the color scheme of my rig(white/blue), than any ASUS mobo I've been interested in.

Thoughts?

Thanks!!

It's not crucial. It's very unlikely to brick a board when flashing it now a days. But if worse comes to worse, you can always buy a new chip for about $15 on eBay. Use a chip puller and replace it. Most of the times they come with old bios versions so if you're running a new CPU that requires a newer bios you'd have a dilemma.
