Hi I'm looking to upgrade my computer's graphics card and wasn't quite sure what I should get.

I currently have a
EVGA GTX 750 Ti FTW 2GB
AMD FX 6300 Six core processor black edition
ASUS M5 A97 R2.0
750W Power Supply
8GB of RAM

I'm looking at AMD cards and want to get about 6 or 8 GB of VRAM out of it and my budget is in the $200s
Any suggests would be helpful

looking at your build (and budget) i would assume that you will be playing games in 1080p am i correct? if so, something like a 4gb RX 480 will suffice as more VRAM does not mean more performance.

i'd recommend you either MSI's RX480 GAMING X (has great cooling capabilities and it's really silent) or Sapphire's NITRO 5D OC which is the same as their fantastic NITRO+ card except it doesn't have the LED on the sapphire logo and doesn't come with a dual bios option but clockspeeds and cooler design are the same.

Watch this video if you want to know about how VRAM works and how it affects performance.

Now see that I have only 8 GBs of RAM would it be logical to upgrade that to 16 first or would a new GPU really be what I should be looking into, I like the RX 470 and the RX 480, probably leaning more towards the 470 because I don't see much advantages to the 480.

Thanks for the replies by the way.
