Why is Core Temp app connecting to 192.185.41.230 IP in the background?

As a general precaution/safety rule I pass all freeware that I download from the Internet via a ProcMon / Wireshark to see if it's doing any mischief in the background.

So while starting Core Temp.exe I observed that it connects to 192.185.41.230 IP address in the background.

Here's a screenshot from ProcMon:

And here's the screenshot from Wireshark:

Does anyone know what is being sent in the binary form in that transmission? Why is it needed in the app that displays CPU temperature? And how to disable it?

You can pretty much bank on all software having default search for update settings, unless during installation it gives the check option for none (usually right under the check option to receive emails with advertisements, news, newsletters etc). Considering you already have a certain level of paranoia with freeware downloads, assume the worst, so when that doesn't happen, its a bonus, rather than assuming all good, then getting miffed when it's not. Just some happy advice.
Maybe checking for updates to the software. If you tracert the ip for coretemp.com it points to 192.185.41.230

Coretemp also has a mobile module to check temps while away from your pc, so possibly it conencts to a cloud account to sync that info or something.

Oh. OK. That's probably the update checker. It's just too bad that it enabled it by default w/o first asking me. Hate when software does it & I have to search through their settings for an opt-out!
