Yesterday, i was playing games and my screen went black.
poof! wont come back.

Turned off the PC from the back power and then turned it on.
my screen had purple lining on it during both the boot sequence and windows loading screen.

And after loading, Windows log on wont show up.

I panic'ed and RMA'd my GPU.

Now i'm having anxiety about whether or not the gpu was dead.

That is totally the GPU problem, right?

Solution
If you had any sort of screen corruption when you first turned the system back on after the lock up of the system or the black screen when it was running.

Then it is more than likely something to do with the Graphics card, in respect to either the graphics memory fitted to the card, or a fault has developed with the Gpu on the graphics card you have.

It could be as simple as a bad or poor solder point on the graphics card if it was quiet hot the last time it was used, or if it happened when you were playing a game on the system with the graphics card under load.

It`s the most likely cause and conclusion I would reach.

First of all,
Thank you for easing my mind.

Second, as you've mentioned.
The GPU probably developed some sort of fault because, before it used to crash every often (Goes black and then back with games CTD).

I'm guessing it is something to that.

Hopefully, RMA will solve the issue.

Thank you sir!
