Ok so i recently bought the Cyrorig H7 cooler after hearing many good things about it. I even looked up if it would fit in the GA-78LMT-USB3 mobo and the thread i found said yes. I also made sure it would fit in my case and the specifications seem as if it would fit. The issue i have is the backplate. The H7's installation requires screwing in standoffs through holes on the mobo from the back to attach a backplate. The problem is that two of the hole (the two on top) are covered by the case. I attempted installation anyway, but the screw holes on the H7 didn't match up with the screws i had on the mobo either way, even tough i know it would fit. Any help would be appreciated

You'll have to take out the motherboard to install if your case doesn't have a big enough cutout on the motherboard tray. GA-78LMT-USB3 is probably one of the worst AM3+ boards created. It even throttles stock FX-6300's.

Yep it looks like you will have to remove the motherboard from the system.
It should not take you long to do, but I must admit it`s still a pain in the ass when you discover it`s the only option.

I had to do the exact same thing with a new Cooler Master 212 evo v2 cpu air cooler, not more than two or three days ago for basically the exact same reasons JRM :( .
