The title kinda says it all
buts heres a little more if you want to know
this is for a system i built recently,
so first off I was going to go with Intel
but I found a nice deal on newegg but the cpu it comes with is crap (FX 6300)
and yes I know I made a huge bottleneck here but the GPU was on sell and I was planing to get a cpu anyways,
The cpu I was thinking about was a 8350 or 8370 but Im pretty sure it would still be a bottleneck.

But iv been saving up some money so I might just get a new mobo maybe intel sky/kaby lake or amd ryzen support I dont know yet
Im leaning to AMD just cause the price difference, and the 8 cores with hyper-threading is nice.
also cause it might help the psu i have is overkill so power is not an issue

But anyways thanks for reading.

Your asking about AMD Ryzen CPUs, we won't really know until some gaming benchmarks come in. The Ryzen 7 lineup is the only one releasing this quarter. Ryzen 5 won't be until Q2.

Other than Ryzen, I don't know of any AMD CPU that won't bottleneck a GTX 1070.

Everything AMD has out right now will bottleneck a 1070 unless you game exclusively at 4K resolution where the 1070 is going to be the limiting factor for your framerates almost regardless of what CPU you have. The new Ryzen chips are the only AMD chip that might not bottleneck the 1070 and we won't know that for sure until next week when the NDA is lifted and we'll see some independent benchmarks of them.

8350/8370 do not have hyperthreading if thats what you are referring to. Spending money on either processor is a HUGE waste right now.

Live with what you have and then buy a new motherboard and a Kabylake or Ryzen processor.

yea thats what I was thinking cause what everyone else is saying and what I though Ryzen 7 is the only AMD chip that MIGHT not bottleneck but its late were I am, im tired, and im not going to get money for any of this without working so il talk more tommorow.

Probably cause the card still runs nice
and also I was talking about Ryzen 7 with the hyper-threading (well at least what they say) but I can see how you misunderstood. Its mostly just the way I type stuff.
But like i told Rafael im tired and I will talk more tommorow.

Thats not true, any level of the Ryzen processors should pair with a 1070 perfectly fine. There are always bottlenecks somewhere in a system, but even the lowest Ryzen 3 should be able to play anything on a GTX 1070 without hiccups. Yes a Ryzen 7 will get better overall performance, but the 3 will still get great fps without hiccupc, which is all you need to worry about.

Again, the new Ryzen processors are worlds faster, spending even $100 on an FX-8xxx is a huge waste. ALso depending on your motherboard they may not even work properly as they are 125w, while the 6300 is 95w. If your motherboard is a 760G chipset it will have problems.

If i want a RYZEN chip I need a new mobo anyways as my only supports am3/3+ and psu is fineI have a 750 watt and the system draws like 450 to 500 max

Ok thats a good board, will handle an FX-8350 or 8370 no problem.

I still recommend selling what you have and replacing with a Ryzen when it comes out, or a current Intel i5 setup if you can't wait. But the FX will work if you decide to go that route.
